The Pure Match Story

Pure Match is a free socializing and dating app that connects devoted single disciples of Christ-singles who believe in the same core values of the Bible and live accordingly.

Our goal is to encourage, empower, and grow closer to each other as we grow closer to God.

Our mission is simply to make Christian singlehood fulfilling, fun, and faith-building! We also want to make online dating wholesome, enriching, and effective.

The problems with dating apps in the market

Lack of belief-centered apps

The biggest problem the Pure Match creators saw in the market was that the current apps didn't sort matches by Christian beliefs and lifestyle, which made it hard to find those who shared their values and greatly limited the effectiveness of the dating services.

The focus is on appearances

Another problem was that current dating apps focused mainly on appearance and first-impressions, rather than on community and character references. Finally, most dating services throw everyone into the dating pool, but don't teach them how to swim (i.e. how to be and get a catch).

We aim to be different by including a wider network of disciples of Christ.

We also utilize a reviewing/recommendation feature, and provide Christ-centered dating coaching to those who want to grow closer to Christ as they grow closer to each other.

Pure Match is a free app, with the option to subscribe for premium features (like unlimited filters, boosts, coaching, or professional profile reviews).

The dating coaching features will likely come in future versions of the app, as those require more development. Still, the Pure Match team is already at work scouting the best Christian teachers to bring Biblical, evidence-based dating coaching to those who want to learn how to date in a way that honors and imitates the life and teachings of Christ.

Chuka Ikokwu

Co-Founder and Lead Product Developer

As a single Christian and an experienced product manager for other successful companies (like WB and Exploding Kittens!), Chuka is very excited to bring this app to the marketplace. Pure Match is just one of many apps he has helped develop and produced. He also has a passion for building up the Singles' ministry.

You can find Chuka at the movies 🎥 or on his Playstation 🎮 on the weekends. He loves his church family and has been a disciple for over two decades. ✝️

Shaela Druyon

Co-Founder and Chief Designer

Shaela is a life coach with a Masters in Education, technology teacher, and digital/web designer. Developing artistic and designing skills for decades, she loves using her gifts to make the world a better, more beautiful place. Designing the Pure Match App is her latest project to do that.

Shaela loves “Geek culture,” and always enjoys a good fantasy, sci-fi, or superhero movie! She has been following Christ for over 19 years, and one of her favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11-13.
